Born and raised in Bangladesh, I immigrated to the United States as a teenager, in 1990. My experience growing up in two very different parts of the world and cultures, and dealing with struggles as an immigrant had a deep impact in my life, including how I approach my work. I have twenty years of experience in the field, including in private practice (2009—present) and community-based organizations (2004—2016) where I worked as a therapist, supervisor, director of behavioral health services, and consultant. I have a bachelor's degree from Wells College and master's degrees in Asian and Comparative Studies and Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies. |
