Background

Born in Bangladesh, I immigrated to the United States as a teenager. The loss of my childhood home and the safety of a familiar world became a powerful motivation in my personal and professional development.

I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) by the Board of Behavioral Sciences in the state of California. In addition to my private practice, I supervise the behavioral health services program at Curry Senior Center in San Francisco. I co-chair the Community Membership and serve on the Board of Trustees at the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis. Additionally, I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. I hold a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a second master’s degree in Philosophy and Religion from California Institute of Integral Studies.
